Apple Releases First iOS 27.3 Developer Beta: Redesigned Health App Returns, Safari Gets Vertical Tabs, and Siri AI Expands to More Apps and Languages

DuoReady   ·   NOVEMBER 3, 2026   ·   iOS 27.3

November 3, 2026 — Apple today seeded the first developer betas of iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3, about a week after iOS 27.2 reached the public. The release brings back the redesigned Health app that appeared during the iOS 27.2 beta cycle before being pulled, and adds a long list of new features across Safari, Siri AI, Apple Watch, Fitness+, iPhone Duo and iPad. Apple has signaled that the new Health app will ship before the end of the year, and multiple outlets expect the public release of iOS 27.3 in December 2026.

1. Redesigned Health App: A Deeper Look at Well-Being

According to Apple Newsroom, the new Health experience centers on three features:

• Insights tab: timely, holistic summaries across heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking, plus a “For You” section with personalized recommendations — for example, guidance on adjusting a wind-down routine after several nights of interrupted sleep. It is paired with educational videos and articles featuring Health app clinical experts.

• Longevity tab: analyzes long-term metrics across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition. Its centerpiece is Health Age, which turns Apple Watch data — VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability — into a metric showing how the body is tracking against chronological age. Users can also add clinical lab data such as A1c and LDL cholesterol.

• At-home movement evaluations: using an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, users can measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max with real-time audio and visual feedback. Apple says on-device vision AI models run the experience entirely on device, and no video is recorded, stored or shared.

Language support: the new Health app is available in global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese.

Apple Fitness+: alongside iOS 27.3, Fitness+ adds Gym Strength workouts with personalized plans, available to Fitness+ subscribers only.

2. Safari: Vertical Tabs, Adaptive Dark Mode and Siri AI

• Vertical Tabs: tabs can sit along the left side of Safari. They show as icons by default to save space, and the bar can be resized to reveal page titles. On iPhone, look under Settings > Apps > Safari; on Mac and iPad, enable it from the View menu.

• Adaptive Dark Mode: when a site does not support Dark Mode, Safari shows a “Try” button that generates a dark version. It can apply automatically or on a site-by-site basis.

• Siri AI for tabs: move, sort, organize and close tabs by voice, and clear browsing history for specific periods. In a future update, Siri’s on-screen awareness will extend to the full content of a page rather than only what is visible.

3. Siri AI Expansion: Actions Across Apps and Four New Languages

iOS 27.3 lets Siri AI take actions inside more apps. Confirmed so far are Calendar, Journal, Messages and Music, and users can ask Siri AI what it can do in a supported app. Preview materials also mention Mail (unsubscribe, undo send), Maps and Photos; the final scope will be clear at release. For languages, Siri AI adds Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian, following Japanese, Spanish, Korean, French and Portuguese in iOS 27.2. Note that at least one report says the four new languages are announced but not yet live in beta 1.

4. Apple Watch: Siri Recap and Live Rewind Enter Beta

watchOS 27.3 beta delivers two Audio Intelligence features for Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. Both require a paired iPhone running iOS 27.3 beta.

• Siri Recap: ambiently takes notes on conversations during a schedule or location you set and creates high-level Apple Intelligence summaries (not transcripts) with a title and key points, viewable in the Siri app on iPhone. Unsaved summaries auto-delete after 7 days, and sensitive information such as financial details and government-issued identifiers is excluded.

• Live Rewind: double-press the Digital Crown to see a text snippet of the last 15 seconds of conversation, which you can ask Siri about or save. A chime sounds when it is used, even if the watch is silent.

Privacy by design: Apple says neither feature creates or stores audio recordings or attributes speech to individual speakers. Snippets and summaries are end-to-end encrypted, and audio is processed in isolation in the S11 chip’s Secure Exclave and immediately deleted. Apple has published an Audio Intelligence Privacy Overview and a support article. Bloomberg describes the capabilities as controversial, so their privacy implications merit continued attention.

5. iPhone Duo, iPad and StandBy

• iPhone Duo Reachability: swipe from the left or right edge to shift outer-screen content sideways for easier one-handed use. According to preview materials it is on by default and can be toggled in Settings > Accessibility > Touch. One report says the feature will extend to other iPhones as well.

• iPadOS 27.3: adds Siri Mode in the Camera app and Visual Intelligence with Apple Pencil support.

• StandBy: on standard iPhones, StandBy moves closer to the iPhone Duo experience, with digital and analog clock faces that can be configured multiple ways, swiped between, and customized with colors and complications, similar to Apple Watch faces.

6. Apple Intelligence Arrives in China

iOS 27.3 brings a first set of Apple Intelligence features to China, including Writing Tools, Genmoji, Priority Notifications, Clean Up and Visual Intelligence. The China beta is reported for November 4. Apple has confirmed that its newer Siri AI features will remain unavailable in China during the initial rollout.

7. Other Reported Items

Preview materials also list Apple Music updates — Concerts For You, reimagined artist pages and enhanced AutoMix. This item appears only in the preview graphic and is not independently confirmed; please rely on Apple’s official announcements.

8. How to Install and Availability

Developers can go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the iOS 27 Developer Beta; a free developer account is sufficient. A public beta is likely to follow within days, and the final release is expected in December 2026. As with any first beta, install it on a secondary device rather than your daily iPhone.
